Copper prices have led to problems

I was recently summoned for jury selection. It was the first time I had ever been called upon for jury duty. The process took all day, and early that afternoon, I was selected to be on a jury. It was a burglary case in which a man was accused of breaking into a business, stealing thousands of pounds of copper, taking the metal to a recycling center, and selling it for cash.

Copper prices
have led to problems, with the worst being burglaries like the one in which I was chosen to hear all about and determine the defendant’s fate.

The prices of many metals have risen recently, with Copper prices being no exception. If you have a lot of scrap metal lying around, you are in luck. You can take the metal to a scrap yard or a recycling center and exchange it for cash. It’s a great way to clean up your yard and make a little extra money in the process. It is also a great way to clean out your garage, shed, basement, or attic and make the job worth your while.

Many dishonest people are taking advantage of the situation that Copper prices have brought. They do not have any of their own copper to haul in, so they steal from people who do. Most often, the people are business owners. Their businesses are being burglarized so that someone else can profit. Some have insurance, and their losses are recouped. Others do not, and their only hope for recouping their losses is the hope that the thieves will be caught and forced to pay restitution.
